FAQ

Where is my data stored?

All your activity data — activities, plans, time logs — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData, and never synced to a server. Deleting the app permanently deletes it. (The AI chat and the Door's Lock Screen updates use a server, but nothing about your activities is stored there — see the Privacy Policy.)

How does the AI chat work?

When you use the AI assistant, your messages and activity context are sent to a secure server-side function that forwards them to OpenAI. No conversation history is stored on our servers. The AI can advise and reflect, but it never modifies your activities or data.

How does the Door work?

Each day, Gus gives your screen time one honest number, built from how you actually use your phone. Scroll until you hit it — then Gus closes the door. The only way back in is real, timed work: a focus session or a habit you actually do. There's no banking, no borrowing, and no buying your way out. Misses are weather, not failure — tomorrow starts clean.

How do I delete my data?

Since all your activity data lives on your device, deleting the Gus app removes everything permanently. There is no server-side account, and nothing to request deletion of.
